Description

A selective, early, post-emergence herbicide that effectively controls weeds such as Phalaris minor, Chenopodium species, and Melilotus Alba in wheat. It is a systemic, selective, post-emergent herbicide for narrow leaf weeds in wheat. The formulation (Sulfosulfuron 75% WG) is a new generation broad-spectrum herbicide. Leader effectively controls the narrow leaf weeds like Phalaris minor (Mandusi/Guli danda) and broad leaf weeds like Chenopodium (Bathua), Melilotus (Sainji). Leader inhibits the synthesis of amino acids and stops the metabolic process. As a result, the weeds dry up and ultimately die. It functions with a double-action approach. The uptake is through leaves and roots with rapid translocation both acropetally and basipetally. Leader should only be applied through liquid spray. Do not broad-cast. Dicot crops like mustard, gram, etc. should not be grown as intercrop in wheat. TIME OF APPLICATION: 30-35 days after sowing of wheat. Alternatively, when the weeds appear in 2-4 leaves. METHOD OF APPLICATION: Spray the recommended quantity of Leader with 200 ml Surfactant per acre. Weeds Controlled by Leader: Phalaris minor and broadleaved weeds like, Chenopodium (Bathu), Melilotus (Sainji) are the major weeds that are controlled by Leader in Wheat crop.
